Ms. Foo Kam Chu, educated in Hong Kong since the 1950s and started her own importing/exporting and trading business in Hong Kong in early 1970s, and did not begin her own real estate business till the end of the 1970s.
In early 1980s, when mainland China was liberated, Ms. Foo began her business exploration in mainland China. She established another trading firm in Hong Kong after former President Deng’s encouragement on the Chinese Economic Reform. This was a trading company that specifically focused on Taiwanese products, which had been officially approved by the Ministry of Economy and Trade. Ms. Foo traveled between China, Hong Kong and Taiwan every week, enhancing the trading and investments of the 3 locations mentioned above.
While operating a trading business, she began to enter the real estate business. She established Jin Dynasty in 1979, focusing on the Hong Kong real estate market, then was officially listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in early 1997(878), which eventually became Jin Chaoyang Group Co., Ltd. with an asset value of more than 20 billion at the present. Ms. Foo is the founder and operator of the company, as well as a major shareholder and chairman.
At the beginning of the 21th century, she set foot in the TMT industry, hence founded Shenzhen Yinghaiwei Optoelectronics Communication Technology Co., Ltd, and built a data center in Guangzhou, outsourcing service center etc.
Ms. Foo Kam Chu has been leading the Jinchaoyang Group from the bottom and has built a corporate with stability and reputation throughout the decade. With her scope and vision, she managed to transform Causeway Bay from an ordinary, worn out district, into arguably the most luxurious area with numerous high-end shopping malls and offices. This great achievement has been affirmed by the public.
For many years, Ms. Foo has actively participated in the development and charity work in Hong Kong and the Mainland, and has served as the China Overseas Friendship Association Council member, executive vice president of Guangzhou Overseas Friendship Association and honorary president of Hong Kong Guangzhou Association of Societies. She also contributed massively In charity work, especially to provide long-term support to schools in rural area and build better learning environment and opportunities for students.
In addition, in order to show gratitude to Ms. Foo’s outstanding contribution to charity, she has won a number of social caring awards, including the “100 Outstanding Female Entrepreneurs in China” award, presented by the China Association of Women Entrepreneurs in 2009. She also won the “Caring Person Award” presented by the Guangdong Women’s Federation and the Guangdong Women and Children’s Foundation in 2007, for offering warmth and love to those in need in the society.
